Piper Smith Watton continue to hold wills and deeds from a number of firms with whom they have been linked in former years.
In addition to the 2004 legacy firms of Piper Smith and Basham, Hughes Watton and Boyd & Hutchinson, we also hold wills and deeds from the firms outlined below.
Piper Smith and Basham was itself formed from the merger of SW1 firms, Francis Basham & Co and Piper Smith & Piper in 1975.
In 1996, the firm assisted SW1 solicitor Keith Carter when his practice, Keith Carter and Co closed and took safe custody of a number of his clients' wills and deeds. Prior to this, the firm also received the wills of local Solicitor Michael Mortimer.
In 1998, the firm assisted Kent Solicitors John Whittle and Roger Carter in winding up their practice and took safe custody of a number of wills and deeds for Hill Bailey Solicitors. Hill Bailey had themselves held a large wills base including wills for former clients of Levett Son & Baldwin and Piper, Padfield & Honniball.
