Private Equity

Our Approach

We advise investors, investees and management teams large and small.  We understand the dynamics and the subtleties associated with an equity investment in a private company.  Knowing what concerns you but also the person sitting across the table helps.

It is the level of attention to the "softer" aspects which dictates the success or otherwise of the investment process.

Investors

We advise a wide range of investors from institutions to private individuals on a variety of investments across a wide spectrum of sectors.  Our broad experience of advising parties on all sides of the transaction process helps us to pre-empt issues and devise practical solutions.

We recognise that relationships are key.  We understand management's perspective and the issues confronting them.  We remain sensitive to these issues whilst ensuring that the investor's objectives are met.

Investees

We advise a wide range of corporates from start-ups to large private companies across the full spectrum of investments - seedcorn to pre-flotation  capital.  We are familiar with the pressures that the investment process brings for owner managers and directors.  Our understanding of the investor's perspective helps us identify likely issues and develop effective solutions.

Management teams

A private equity transaction presents unique pressures for the management team who are confronted with juggling the investment process and managing their "day job".

Our approach is to free  management to focus on the commercial issues of the process whilst enabling them to run the business.

A smooth transaction and the establishment of a strong working relationship between management and the investor are products of a successful investment process.
