Ian started his legal career at Coward Chance (now Clifford Chance) before moving to SJ Berwin in 1986. He became a partner in 1989 and founded the firm's construction group which he ran until he left in 2006. After a year at CMS Cameron McKenna LLP, Ian joined PSW in October 2008.
Ian's areas of specialisation are construction and aviation. In construction Ian advises on both contentious and non-contentious matters involving adjudication, arbitration and court proceedings, drafting building contracts, professional appointments, collateral warranties and all associated documents. He has acted for British Land, Axa, Quintain, the Crown Estate, Marks and Spencer and Sainsbury in relation to development work for commercial buildings and on disputes arising from the construction projects including mediation, adjudication, arbitration and High Court cases.
