School Bullying - Is the Tide Turning?

Incidences of school bullying seem to be on the increase and the view is often taken that there is little or nothing that can be done about it. However, a recent case has given new hope to families whose children suffer at the hands of the playground tearaways.

A Scottish schoolgirl was granted a "non-molestation" order by the court after enduring an eight month hate campaign at school, which culminated in one of the bullies trying to assault her in front of the head master.

If any of the four teenaged girls named in the order abuse her, make gestures at her, attack her or cause her fear or distress, they will be committing an offence.

The charity Childline offers advice to help victims of bullying and their families.
